Clarion Street Art 2004. Love photographing this place. One of the fence murals evolving in a mission street alley. I named it mayhem dogs man to categorize the image though the phrase takes on poetic meaning for those gritty times. The alley is filled with amazing works that often stand unmolested for years. There is a legend about a gang tagger who aspired to leave the area. In a case of mistaken identity, he is killed protecting his sister. "he was the alpha artist, not a gang tagger or affiliate, the artista de la pintada in the hood and when he was gunned down, his spirit animated into the fence. He could see and hear but couldn't speak. If only she knew he was alive in this way. He watched over the street in way that was at once lonely and eternally hopeful"
