Raw hi8 footage from Baja SUR 1994. Pescadores de Punta Lobo.
I purchased my first underwater housing (light&motion seahawk) from Berkley White of Backscatter in Monterey, CA. I owned a Sony TR101 hi8 camera. On a trip to Todos Santos, Baja Sur, I road tripped to Punta Lobo and met local fishing cooperatives. We took a Panga south a few miles off Cerritos beach and harvested oysters. It was more turbulent than expected. REALLY fun. This is one of my first u/w documentary clips. We later hand lined for Dorado and ate oysters with lemon on the Pacific. The FISHERMEN USE on board motor/hookah rigs for air supply and sell burlap sacks of shellfish to mainland cooperatives.
